The Playhere Postcard FAQContents1. Is this a free service? I mean...
really free? More questions? Address them to support@all-yours.net please. 1. Is this a free service?Yes, believe it or not, writing and reading Digital
Postcards is a free service. We get our money from
advertising sponsors. That's why you see those banners on
our pages. 2. How do the Digital Postcards work?A Digital Postcard is a web page that is
created when you fill out and submit the postcard form.
You can have a look at our sample
postcard. We send an email to the recipient and she
will be informed that a postcard is waiting for her in
our post office. You can even overwrite our standard
email message or add some text of your own. 3. Is there a way to customize my postcard's layout?Yes, you can select pictures, colors, backgrounds, and
music files. You can even link to any picture and sound
on the Web. 4. Can I enhance my postcards with a picture or music file from my personal computer?Sure. Just upload
the file to our server before you create your postcard.
The upload program will return your file's new URL. On
the postcard program's main form you simply enter this
URL into the "custom image" or "custom
sound" field. 5. Can anyone read my postcards?Only the recipient and you can access the postcard
file. Of course our Webmaster could read it too, but you
can be sure he's too busy and will not be willing to read
hundreds of postcards every day. Each Digital Postcard
has its own claim check number. It is impossible to view
a postcard without entering this number first and only
the sender and the recipient will know it. 6. When will my postcards be discarded? Our postal clerk discards each postcard two weeks
after it has been written. Sorry, there's no way to
recover these postcards. However, there is a return
receipt checkbox in our postcard form. If you activate
it, you will be notified by email when the recipient
accesses her postcard. 7. I can't find the postcard that was sent to me. Is this a bug?No, up to now we have located all "missing" postcards. There are several possible reasons why you're not able to find your postcard. The most common reason: Some browsers don't support basic functions that are required to pick up Digital Postcards (e.g. some browsers from AOL, WebTV and IBM). But don't worry... here's how you get your postcard
anyway: Hint for AOL users: Yes, you can have a better browser. The Webmaster of this site explains how to install Netscape. 8. When I click the button on your welcome page, nothing happens. Why?You are recycling on this page. This is a browser
related problem. You should access The Digital Postcard
with an up-to-date browser like Netscape Navigator or
Microsoft Internet Explorer. 9. How about computer viruses and Digital Postcards? Our program eliminates possibly malicious code from a
postcard before it is saved on our server. So no-one can
annoy you with a JavaScript bomb in his postcard. Also,
"conventional" computer viruses can't be
transmitted with a postcard, because we do not transmit
executable binaries to your computer. 10. Can I install this system on my own Web site?Yes, you can have your own Digital Postcards.
They are very effective in promoting your Web site
because there is a link to it on each card. Send email to
our Digital Postcard autoresponder response@all-yours.net
and you will receive a detailed instruction within just a
few minutes. © The Digital Postcard |
