Cheat Codes

Air Combat

Here are some codes for Ace Combat I got from the Japanese Hyper Playstation magazine. Before entering each code, you must do step 1.

STEP 1:

When starting/continuing a game from the title screen, hold down R1 + O while the CD is being accessed. A black screen with the words "Now Loading" and flying CDs in the background will appear. While the CDs are flying around, you can enter one of the following codes:

CODE 1: Undecorated planes with original paintjob. U, D, L, R, U, D, L, R, R1

CODE 2: Undecorated wingman. Hold R1, press START ten times.

CODE 3: ?? L, R, L, R, D, U, D, U, O, O, T, T, T

CODE 4: Unlimited cash (Unconfirmed) Hold D, C, T, T, T, C, T, C, T, C + T

CODE 5: Hidden game. U, L, D, R

During loads, you can play this mini game for about 6 seconds. You control the Ace Combat icon with L or L2 and O or R2, with the aim of destroying as many of the swarming Stealth Bombers as possible. I think if you score above 4.6 points/sec you'll get some special bonus (not sure about this).

Each time a code is successfully entered, a representative icon will appear at the bottom left of the flying CD screen.

Have fun!

Tip on playing the extra game: Hold down the O button. This will make you spin in small circles. To move your plane, release the O button momentarily--while released, you will fly straight. Hold the O button down again to resume flying in circles--a little practice with this method and you'll be able to move around without crashing on the edge of the screen. Also, after i got a score of 4.75 pts/sec, wingmen were free. (you'll know it because when the hidden game is over, the word "Congratulations" appears under "Complete") I'm not sure of the minimum required score, but i know it's between 4.15 and 4.75--possibly 4.6 pts/sec? The extra game on the higher missions has little UFOs instead of stealth bombers, and a little superman-looking character as well--if you hit him, he speeds off the screen--not sure if this gives you more points or not.
Thanks, chris
